Visiting Dublin On A Budget

Whether you’re moving to Dublin or travelling with family, there is no doubt it’s a great city with its lively streets, Guinness and historic buildings. However, the city can be quite pricey but luckily, visiting Dublin on a budget is possible. Here are our tips to travel to Dublin without breaking the bank.

When Is The Best Time To Visit?

Visiting Dublin on a budget requires careful planning and preparation. This means that you need to look at the best time to visit Dublin. Typically, November, December and January are seen as the cheapest times to visit.

Furthermore, we also recommend booking on a Tuesday as that is the cheapest day to book.

Accommodation

Ideally, you should book your accommodation weeks or even months in advance to get the best deals.

Booking Airbnbs are also a good way to stay on a budget and at times, they are cheaper than a hotel room.

If you are staying in an Airbnb and you found that your laundry is piling up, just get in touch with us and we’ll pick up your laundry and return it back to you within 24 hours!

Using Transport

If you are keen to experience transport in Dublin, it’s important to remember that buses only accept cash and although they don’t give change, they are still cheap to use. The buses are a great option to use when travelling to the city centre from the airport.

We do advise you to get a Dublin pass that allows you to see 30 destinations and also gives you the chance to go on the hop-on, hop-off bus.

You also have the option of using LUAS, a tram system, that operates on two lines.

The good news is that when you’re in the city centre, you can get to the main places just by walking so using the transport system isn’t essential.

Explore The Cheap Attractions

It may sound hard to believe but there are free attractions to visit in Dublin. One of these is the national gallery. If you’re into art, we highly recommend this place which includes the works of Rembrandt, Money and Goya.

Attractions like Dublin Castle and St. Patricks don’t cost much just to look at them from the outside and take those amazing instagrammable photos!

Also, you should visit the national museum of Ireland if you’re interested in learning more about the culture and history.

Stay On A Budget When Visiting Pubs

It’s tempting, we know. Going to Dublin for the drinking culture is a must for many but it is also expensive. While you should visit the famous Temple Bar for the experience, we also recommend visiting other local pubs that are cheaper. Some pubs and bars price their pints for less than 4 EUR which is affordable!

Dublin is a trip that will give you many memories. Visiting Dublin on a budget is important but having fun and enjoying the trip with friends and family is also important!

A friendly reminder that we do offer laundry services in Dublin! If you need a hand in your laundry, just book a service with us!
