It’s clear that robotics, automation and artificial intelligence (AI) are changing how we do things in our daily lives. We can see that AI has already taken over some daily activities, whether it’s home automation or automated retail. The collaboration between robots and humans are increasingly developing.

5 Robots That Can Help At Home

  1. iRobot: Roomba: This is a very well known vacuum robot that stays ahead of dust, dirt and keeps your floors clean everyday, so you no longer have to manually vacuum the floor yourself. There are now several new Roomba products that are more intelligent as well as powerful. The latest model (Roomba i7+) has an automatic dirt disposal, so you don’t have to worry about vacuuming for weeks at a time.

  2. Pillo: Make your medication management simple with this automated ‘medicine cabinet’. Pillo stores your medication in a patented pill-wheel, split into doses and dispenses into a special cup. Pillo will basically give you the right meds on time, every time and records when you take your pills so you never miss a dose. Pillo has a built-in facial and voice recognition that acts as a security layer, ensuring the pills are only for you. You can also get interactive with Pillo with its touch screen interface. In addtion, you can ask questions, receive notifications and alerts to help keep you on track of your health information and medication dosage.

  3. Toibot: You can now forget about having to clean the toilet yourself with the worlds first toilet-cleaning robot. Toibot will clean your toilets using cleaning capsules and a flexible brush, keeping the toilet bowl disinfected, cleaned and polished. Toibot works all with the push of a button and is powered by batteries. It can also be easily attached to any toilet bowl.

  4. Aeolus Robotics: Aeolus’ robot helper or ‘maid’ can take care of household chores for you such as picking up clutter, mop the floor, wash the dishes and move around furniture; it can even bring you a something to drink! This clever robot is voice-controlled and continuously learns every detail of your life to improve how it serves you. It recognises voices and faces, can take on new tasks, remembers where more than 1000 household items were or should be located and can even locate lost items.

  5. Moley Robotics: The world’s first robotic kitchen featuring an advanced fully-functional chef robot will now be able to take over cooking at home! The robot features two robot hands that can completely reproduce the functions of kitchen staff, with the same speed, sensitivity and movement as those of human hands. Other than advanced robotic arms, the robotic kitchen features an oven, a hob and a touch screen unit. It is operated by it’s touch screen unit and can also be operated via smartphone

Aeolus and Moley Robotics have yet to launch their robots to consumers, whilst the other robots are already available to order or pre-order.

Although there isn’t a robot that will take over your entire laundry routine just yet, there are AI technologies  that will fold and iron your clothes for you- but this requires a BIG investment! These will also, no doubt continue to be advanced and redeveloped.
