Butter is delicious and looks good on toast, mac and cheese<\/a>, and most desserts<\/a>. However, one thing butter doesn\u2019t look good on is our clothes. No matter how delicious butter is, the feeling of noticing butter stains on clothes is frustrating. Due to its greasy, oily texture and milk protein features, it can be quite a task to remove butter stains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Butter stains can be a little difficult to notice, especially when they\u2019ve settled into our clothes. You\u2019ll only notice the butter stains from close when you are doing your laundry.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are lucky to spot them quickly, stop what you are doing and get a butter knife to scrape off the butter. Then get a clean white cloth and blot away the stain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, get baking soda<\/a> and pour it over the stained area to help absorb the oil and let it sit for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterwards, treat the stain with a laundry stain remover. As usual, ensure your fabric type is fine to be treated with the laundry stain remover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also use a liquid detergent<\/a> for this step. Once it\u2019s been poured into the stained area, let it sit for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019ve pre-treated accordingly, you can wash your fabric at the hottest temperature (per care label instructions).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, check your garment after the washing machine<\/a> cycle is completed. If the stain is removed, let the garment air dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We don\u2019t recommend using the dryer<\/a> because butter stains are hard to see when your garment is wet and straight out of the washing machine. Furthermore, high heat can do more damage to your fabric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
