Laundryheap 2022 Roundup

Before we say hello to 2023, we’ll dive into Laundryheap’s best moments from 2022. It has been the year that saw life slowly get back to normal and with that, came more opportunities. For Laundryheap, the year’s challenges have been met with growing optimism and success. From acquisitions to partnerships to events, here is our Laundryheap 2022 roundup!

1. Laundryheap Acquires Laundrapp

News in the laundry industry doesn’t get bigger than this. One of the big stories of 2022 was Laundryheap acquiring key competitor Laundrapp. Not only did this mean our customer base increased but we also became the market leader in the UK.

Despite the challenges faced during the pandemic, this news is a testament to the growth of Laundryheap.

2. Laundryheap Wins An Award At The LADAs

On November 3rd of 2022, Laundryheap attended the Laundry and Dry-Cleaning Awards (LADA). It was a night of entertainment, food, drinks and most crucially, celebration.

Laundryheap were delighted to win the ‘Digital/Technical’ award at the LADAs event. It was an important reminder that all the work ethic, teamwork and hard work had paid off.

The pandemic meant everyone at Laundryheap had to adapt to a new situation but to be awarded for our efforts shows how ambitious the team were.

3. Partnerships

In our 2021 round-up, we highlighted our goal to increase our partnerships further. One year later, this goal has been achieved.

2022 has been the year of partnerships for Laundryheap.

From fintech companies to hotels, here are some of the partnership announcements we made this year:

  • Tabby
  • Get Ease
  • Warren House Hotel
  • Adagio Aparthotels
  • The Lime Tree Hotel
  • Euston Square Hotel
  • Stock Exchange Hotel Manchester

In addition, we also announced an extension to our partnership with UnderTheDoormat.

4. Global All-Hands Call

The team harmony in Laundryheap has been the catalyst for success. It’s been a collective effort from everyone (in all departments) to meet the goals and expectations.

On October 2022, all departments of Laundryheap came together on a big call to talk about Laundryheap’s achievements this year and what is expected in the future.

It was certainly a big highlight of 2022 to get everyone together and look back at what the company has achieved.

5. Laundryheap’s Global Growth

The company has grown exponentially since 2014. Breaking through the UK market alone was a dream but in 2022, Laundryheap has made big moves to grow globally.

Particularly in Singapore which is one of Laundryheap’s fastest-growing countries. This feat is impressive because Singapore was launched in the middle of the pandemic.

Laundryheap managed to seize the technological opportunities and set up remotely abroad. Skip to 2022, we have a stable laundry service in Singapore and a great social media channel to engage with our Singaporean customers.

We aim to make 2023 bigger and continue to make laundry convenient for consumers.

Laundryheap would like to wish you all the merriest of Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Laundryheap 2021 roundup

It’s been another successful year at Laundryheap. Despite the set backs that the continuing pandemic has thrown our way, the hard work and dedication of the Laundryheap team has allowed us to push through and continue delivering our high-quality laundry and dry cleaning service to you, our dedicated customers. These are just a few of Laundryheap’s 2021 highlights.

  • Rebrand
  • E-Bikes
  • Sustainability
  • Hotel laundry
  • Continued pay it forward scheme
  • Keeping our customers safe
  • Looking forward to 2022

Rebrand

The biggest change that Laundryheap has seen this year has been our rebrand. The old Laundryheap brand prioritised functionality which, although important, didn’t allow us to create the personal relationship with our customers that we wanted. Enter the brand new Laundryheap. A sleeker logo, vivid colour palette, bold typography, and empathetic imagery has allowed us to better convey to our customers who we are, what values we have, and why we should be your first choice for all of your laundry and dry cleaning needs.

E-Bikes

In October 2020 we launched an E-bike trial in London, with bikes designed by EAV Cargo. This was in a bid to help lower our carbon footprint and help us work towards making Laundryheap an environmentally conscious business. After the success of the trial period, in 2021 we ordered a further 200 E-Bikes and, as of December 2021, have been trialling their use in Dubai. Our CEO, Deyan Dimitrov, commented, “Our EAV’s can move around the city almost twice as fast as vans, and the fact that they make almost no environmental impact whatsoever gives us a much more carbon-neutral status as a business.”

Sustainability

Our E-Bike program is just one of the steps that we have taken to help make Laundryheap a more environmentally sustainable business. Sustainability standards define the way that we operate, and we take the challenge of climate change extremely seriously. With that in mind, in 2021 we implemented several ways to help make Laundryheap a more environmentally conscious business. Firstly, we always wash at 30 degrees Celsius, unless a hot wash service is specified, to help lower our energy usage. Secondly, we only use environmentally friendly detergents that are made from natural alternatives to the synthetic chemical compounds that most mainstream detergents contain. Finally, we switched the plastic bags that we delivered our customers fresh laundry in to cotton, which has encouraged our customers to reuse the same bag an average of 5 times.

Hotel laundry

In 2021 we began our hotel laundry service. Partnering with hotels, internationally, to provide their guests with a fast, on-demand, laundry and dry cleaning service. Currently we are partnered with over 3,000 hotels, including Premier Inn, Holiday Inn, and Best Western, with plans to partner with even more in 2022.

 Continued pay it forward scheme

In March 2020, when the world went in to its first COVID 19 lockdown, we began the pay it forward scheme. Each time a Laundryheap gift card was purchased we would add an additional amount to the total on the gift card. Throughout 2021 we continued this scheme, ensuring that our customers were able to use the services they needed.

Keeping our customers safe

When the COVID 19 pandemic began in 2020 our top priority was the safety of our customers and staff. This remains our number 1 priority. In order to keep our customers and staff safe we are still picking-up and delivering all of our orders contactless to prevent the spread of COVID 19. Additionally, we have continued to offer a hot wash service that has a higher success of killing bacteria

Looking forward to 2022

As 2021 draws to a close we are immensely proud of the hard work and dedication of every Laundryheap employee, and the continued support of our customers. As we look towards the new year we hope to continue our expansion, providing our high-quality dry cleaning and laundry service to more customers across the world. We will also continue to work towards becoming as environmentally friendly as possible, consistently improving how we work, with the environment in mind. Above all, we will continue to provide our customers with a fast, reliable, quality laundry and dry cleaning service. Happy New Year!

Laundryheap 2020 roundup

2020 has been a strange and difficult year for all of us. We have had to adapt to living and working in a completely new world. At Laundryheap, we have been listening to what our customers want, and adapting our services to suit their needs. This is how our 2020 has gone.

  • Contactless deliveries
  • Hot wash services
  • Healthcare worker discount
  • NHS support initiative
  • Essential packs
  • Eco bikes
  • Expanding internationally
  • Pay it Forward scheme

Contactless deliveries

Our main priority has, and will always be, to make our customers experience with Laundryheap as easy and pleasurable as possible- this includes keeping them safe. As of March 2020, all of our orders have been picked-up and delivered completely contactless.

When our customers place their order, we ask them to specify a safe and secure pick-up and delivery location so that we can ensure that all of our orders can successfully be carried out. This prevents our customers and drivers from interacting with one another, and therefore prevents the spread of COVID 19.

We will be continuing our contactless orders into 2021.

Hot wash services

High temperatures have a higher success of killing bacteria and viruses that are lingering on your clothing. For that reason, we have been offering a hot wash service since March 2020.

Our hot wash service is a free add-on for all of our customers, however, we do warn that all care labels need to be checked prior to placing a hot wash service as hot washes can damage delicate materials.

Similarly to our contactless deliveries, we will be offering hot wash services in 2021.

Healthcare worker discount

When the COVID 19 pandemic hit, and the world went into lockdown, it was our healthcare workers who looked after us and our loved ones. At Laundryheap, we wanted to show our health workers our appreciation for all that they do. From March to June 2020, we offered all healthcare workers a 30% discount on their orders, in all the countries we operated in. It was a small gesture of our massive appreciation for everything that they had done, and are still doing, to help beat this pandemic.

NHS support initiative

At the beginning of the pandemic, there were NHS staff that were travelling far distances to work in hospitals across the country. To help these members of staff, we teamed up with our partners Under the Doormat, the award-winning luxury home accommodation business, to provide NHS workers in London with temporary homes close to hospitals. Under the Doormat provided the homes, and Laundryheap provided all of their linens.

Essential Packs

When the world first went into lockdown, people were urged to only go to the shops for essential items. To help those, in London, who didn’t feel comfortable going to the shops, we devised the Essentials Pack- a pack of essential toiletries that were delivered, contactless, straight to your door. Our Essential Packs included soap, toilet paper, washing up liquid, shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, cleaning liquid, and liquid soap.

We collaborated with AGE UK to send Essential Packs to those who were most at risk of contracting COVID 19. To contribute to this initiative, our customers could buy an Essentials Pack and enter ‘AGE UK’ into the address section of the order. Each pack that was bought for AGE UK went directly to an elderly person to help them during this troubling and scary time.

Thank you to everyone who helped us with this initiative.

Eco bikes

Laundryheap is a fully committed environmentally conscious business. As such, we are constantly striving to make every part of our business as environmentally friendly as possible.

In October, we launched a trial of our brand new eco bikes, designed by EAV Cargo, in London. Eco bikes have the ability to slash carbon dioxide emissions from  transport by 50%. Not only do our delivery bikes lower our businesses carbon footprint, but they also limit the time our drivers spend in traffic, meaning a speedier delivery for our customers.

We, at Laundryheap, are incredibly pleased to announce that our London eco bike trial period was incredibly successful. In 2021, we will be bringing our eco bikes to 4 more cities in a bid to continue making Laundryheap as environmentally friendly as possible.

 Expanding internationally

At Laundryheap, we want to make as many people’s lives as easy as possible by eliminating the task of laundry. In 2020, we have been lucky enough to grow Laundryheap internationally, expanding out business to America, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Denmark.

We hope to continue growing Laundryheap internationally throughout 2021, and, if we don’t already, we hope to operate where you are soon.

Pay it forward scheme

When COVID 19 hit, we wanted to help our customers as much as possible. Since March 2020, we have been adding an additional amount of money to all of our Laundryheap gift cards. Whichever gift card amount you buy, we add an extra amount, at no additional cost to yourself. This is just our way to help our customers get the most out of our services.

We would like to wish all of our customers a very happy new year. In 2021, we will continue growing our business, and helping as many customers with their laundry needs as possible.

We can’t wait to see you in 2021.
