How To Tie A Headscarf

The Headscarf has a storied history dating back to Ancient Rome and the Middle East. Today, the headscarf is still important to religious groups and the fashion industry. if you’re interested in wearing one, we will walk you through how to tie a headscarf!

Rosette Wrap

One popular headscarf style is the Rosette Wrap.

To tie your headscarf using this style:

  1. Tie your hair so it becomes a ponytail.
  2. Fold the scarf and create a triangle.
  3. After you’ve folded your scarf, put the ends of the scarf to the front of your forehead.
  4. Twists the ends together leading into a spiral
  5. Lastly, tuck the ends in to secure the scarf.

Boho Headscarf

The boho headscarf is suited for the hot weather and will cover (no pun intended) the summer look essentials! To get started:

  1. Fold your scarf in half to form a triangle.
  2. Wrap it around your forehead and tie the knot in the back.
  3. The corner of your scarf should be hanging down in the back.
  4. Make sure it is tight and comfortable as you tie the headscarf!

Babushka Headscarf

It’s easy to fall in love with the classic Babushka style and get inspired to tie a headscarf. This style is typically worn over the hair and tied below the chin.

What makes this headscarf style cool is that it will keep your hair in place! Whether you’re rushing to open the front door or going out in the rain or wind, the Babushka will cover your hair!

To tie this headscarf:

  1. Start by folding it in half to make a triangle.
  2. Simply place the folded edge on the top of your head (it needs to be centred).
  3. Take the two opposing ends and knot them under your chin. It’s as easy as 123!

How to care for microfibre cloths

What is a microfibre cloth?

A microfibre cloth is a cloth made from very small fibres of polyester and nylon. These tiny fibres are split, creating more fibre surface and making the cloth incredibly absorbent. This makes them excellent for cleaning dirt, dust, and bacteria from surfaces around your house.

How long do microfibre cloths last?

If looked after appropriately, your microfibre cloth can last for up to 5 years. Of course, this also depends on how often you use your cloth and what for.

How often should you wash microfibre cloths?

You should be washing your microfibre cloths on a weekly basis, especially if they are regularly used. If your cloth is heavily soiled or pungent, it should be washed immediately. 

Wash

Microfibre cloths can be washed in a washing machine on a warm or hot water cycle with mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener as you will clog the open spaces in the fabric, making the cloth less absorbent. Ideally, you should wash your microfibre cloths by themselves as they are likely to cling to any other material, such as cotton. You can, however, wash your microfibre cloths with other microfibre items, such as clothing or towels. 

If you would prefer to hand wash your microfibre cloths, fill a basin with hot water and mild detergent. Use your hands, or a soft-bristled brush, to gently scrub at the fabric, removing any stains and releasing embedded dirt. Once you are satisfied that your cloth is adequately clean, thoroughly rinse it by running it under clean, warm, water. 

Dry

To ensure that your microfibre cloth lasts, it’s best to leave it to air dry. Exposing your cloth to high-temperatures damages the fibres and will render your cloth useless. Instead, leave your cloth to completely air dry, refraining from using it until it is completely dry. Luckily, microfibre is an incredibly fast-drying fabric.
